Hi Guys!

So I wanted to make a Dedicated music player to run Spotify or even Apple music if it came down to it. and I understand that something similar can be sold on amazon but nothing was really peaking my interest in form and design. what I wanted was something mor akin to the iPod nano new or old and I was thinking that a raspberry pi with android OS and a DAC strapped to it might be my best options. I don't even know if this is physically possible but I wanted to throw it out to my favorite community to see what y'all had to think about it. It would be my first ever actual design project and I do not think I have the capacity to do this on my own. So what do you all think, is it possible?

Sweet I already have KiCAD for work and school but I am not too literate on it is the issue. Do you happen to have any videos or posts on the matter you would suggest?

AHA! I have an update with a little bit of finagling I was able to get the newest pi port of lineage and gapps onto my 400 to download Spotify (see attached photos). So the concept is possible. I also found a CM4008000 that I have bought and I have a carrier board that has a 5 inch touchscreen. All I’m really lacking is audio out and battery power but I was going to peruse adafruit for power. Any suggestions?

Another update I finally got the touch screen carrier board in and I strapped together a rough case (still need to get one 3D printed). But I have found a couple things that can be worked on

Ongoing Issues:
- there’s a noticeable break in the songs every so often.
- CM4 heats up a considerable amount and I have no heat dissipation.
- when I hit the power button to sleep the module the screen will turn off but the backlight will stay lit.
- currently using external power and audio out need to modify case to hold both.
- need to make A better hat for the power and volume buttons.
