Ok no worries. I just checked. It was a pain, as I had to partial reassembly the gamepad parts, then get the wiiU console out and sync the wiimote, and enter Wii mode in order to get the IR LED's to power on Anyway they do take 3V. And it's a 10Ω resistor. Edit: and the 2 leds are in series, so...

Ah ok thanks. The Wii U gamepad LED's also run off 12V? If so, I'll just use the Wii U LED's and solder new resistors.

Thanks. I'm building it in a Wii U gamepad. So I will just use the existing LED's, and their resistors if I can locate them. Will probably just cut the top of the board off, and run wires to the LED resistors, headphone jack, and volume slider.

Hey how do you connect the IR LED's to get the Wiimote to work? Is there a guide anywhere? Or do they just need to be connected to a power source and that's it?
