USB works The stock fan and heatsink are plenty thick when stacked vertically. I plan on using a different fan with either a trimmed heatsink or a different one as well. It's fine as long as the height of the Wii (with USB and AV ports) combined with the heatsink and fan aren't pushing the...

Trim works. I'm very thankful it does too. I'll wire 5v today and will probably cut the LDO legs to allow connection of the 1v8 line from the PSU-Plus without removing the component because it's easier and faster. After which, I'll connect Bluetooth, WiFi, and the GC+ 2.0. I'll redo the solder...

I relocated and verified u10 I accidentally rendered u10 and u9 useless by means of too much force. So I took u10 from my old trim. Like the previous trim, this once also utilizes extremely thin enameled wire. Once I verified boot I prepared for trimming There is kapton tape beneath the...

I want to get this project done this summer so I went ahead and bought a new board from eBay. I've installed RVLoader, patched out WiFi and enabled VGA. Do these trim lines good good? I'm still retaining the AV and USB ports like the last trim. I may try to revive the other board at a later date.

    Remembering Doom

In the time since I've first interacted with Doom he has been nothing but a kind member who only had good to say. He is such a cultural aspect of this community. He was always friendly to everyone including me even though I seem like such a pain. I can't believe he's passed on now. Blessings of...

I've redone the solder joints, reduced wire length, and redone u10 with a thicker wire. Despite this I am getting the same result with a working fan but no video

I cleaned the board with IPA and I'm getting the same result. Is there more I can do or do I need to trim another Wii?

I verified continuity between u10 and the via. I removed the regs and composite cable before testing resistances. The resistances seemed fine, although they were noticably off from when I first prepared this trim, but I sanded the perimeter with 2000 grit sandpaper anyways. I recorded the...

There's an extremely thin wire connecting u10 but I'll check it. There is no 5v or USB connected. USB isn't needed for boot right? I'll wire it anyways.

I've wired up the Wii and the processors get warm, but no signal is given. I'm thinking the single atx psu derived ground wire could be limiting current. Power is being supplied from an original Wii power brick. I'm testing video through composite and I've tried my miniature Tianma LCD as well...

As far as cad goes, I designed the majority of the case a while ago in tinkercad. Ive since learned fusion and have ceased using tinkercad. Tinkercad is a big slow mess when it comes to things like this. Recreating this properly in fusion shouldn't take too long.

I am ready to pick up this project again after almost two years of deep introspective... And the PSU-Plus from CrazyGadget (thank you for making these bro.) This will be much more enjoyable to work with then my old regs: Nothing wrong with PTH regs, I just worked with them poorly. I will be...

Solved my wii has 6 layers, displays a black or gray screen.

That also looks like one of those USB c decoy board that can grab a given voltage. Since the charger you're using can only supply 5 volts, the decoy will only supply 5 volts no matter what its set to grab I would also shorten the exposed wire on the usb c decoy

Solved my wii has 6 layers, displays a black or gray screen.

Read the text on the charger. If it says "5v 1a" then it will never work. 4 layers wiis consume up to ten watts, while 6 layers consume even more. That charger can only supply 5 watts. Try using a different power source. A good one is the stock wii power brick. If you have the wii pcb scrap you...

    Question Trimmed Wii doesn't boot

I have a modified trim that retains the both the AV and USB ports. I've reliably booted this trim before using the same regs Im using now: 4 pth08080wah regulators. The voltages are a little off though: 1v - 0.97 1v15 - 1.13 1v8 - 1.75 3v3 - 3.22 All of these readings are on unloaded regulators...
