Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

I think you have the H and V sync wires swapped on the driver board. I would try to switch them and see if that fixes it if not you could double check to make sure you have VGA Installed. If your Wii is showing up on the TV it shouldn't be an issue with the rest of the board.

Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

Just a general tip when working with portables you need to isolate as much as possible in each testing scenarios and try to add things one at a time. What I mean by this is first test the trim with just video hooked up, then try switching to vga, wiring USB and audio. Its hard to do things all...

Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

Just a few things you could try: It seems like there are some solder blobs in your close up picture you can try to clean those first. It looks like the V sync red wire is way too exposed and could cause shorting as well. You also can make sure that there is continuity between the H/V sync wires...

Could you also post a more clear picture of the H/V sync wires on the Wii motherboard they look shorted.

Worklog Learning wii moding with a Noldendo Wii Micro

Did you measure that all the voltages are correct? You could try sanding again to make sure you throughly remove shorts between the layers.

Worklog Learning wii moding with a Noldendo Wii Micro

Yeah the 6 layer boards used in the Noldendo draw more power than the 4 layers boards and the RVL PMS 2 does not output enough power for the 6 layer Wii boards. If you're building a Noldendo you'll want the RVL PSU anyways since its powered from wall power unlike the RVL PMS 2.

Worklog Learning wii moding with a Noldendo Wii Micro

A few things to note it is not possible to power the RVL PMS 2 without a battery and also the RVL PMS 2 is not meant to power 6 layer motherboards (Which is the one in your pictures) it is meant for 4 Layer Wii motherboards. This could be the reason for your issues with it booting. It is...

You need to use NUSDownloader to download the correct was files. Once downloaded put them on the root of your flash drive and the install should proceed as normal IOS36-64-v3608.wad, IOS58-64-v6176.wad and IOS80-64-v6944.wad are the wad files you need.

Worklog [2024 Contest Entry] The UDS Worklog

Very unlikely that I complete this project but hopefully I'll at least get a working Wii U trim out of it. The trim pictured is untested but I'm planning on finishing the necessary relocations to get it working after this is posted. Either way I'd like to work on a portable Wii U for this...
