Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

Im so sorry for taking so long to get back to this, I've been busy these last 2 months with school nearing its end, but I tried this and it worked! The controllers had some problems but it turned out I just pinched a wire and it broke so that was an easy fix. Now it's all working. Now on to...

Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

It worked!!! However, it is inconsistent on whether it boots or not and when I checked the controls the left joystick and triggers don't work. I'll keep looking at it and see if I can fix that.

Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

I redid the rgb wires as magnet wire and I desoldered, cleaned the board, then soldered the signal wires. Still not working tho. :/ idk where the problem is. I don't think it's the h/v wires, they're not shorting and they have connection to the pads on the driver board. My only guess is that I'm...

Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

Do you think it would work better if I just used wrapped wire instead? I know the shielded wire gives a cleaner signal but I am struggling to solder them to the board without any shorts or blobs

Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

I desoldered the tp47 3.3v line and tested the board and it still works connected to a TV so I know the problem is between the board and the screen (or the tp47 line). Im going to try and clean up my solder joints between the wii and the screen because I think thats what the issue is. Also I...

Ok I'll keep these in mind and update when I get anything. Also yes I did enable vga in the installer. Thank you to both of you

Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

I wired the 3.3v wire and used capton tape to cover the h/v wires. The continuity is good but still no change.

Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

Yeah I'm using wrapped magnetic 34 awg wires for most of it, and I'm using the shielded wire from the wifi module for the rgb wires.

Worklog another ashida build, ITS FINALLY DONE!!! (kinda)

I just got into console modding, in fact this is my first ever electronics project in general. Luckily everything went well (mostly). I followed dubeisenhower's tutorial on YouTube as well as GingerofOz's candy build. The bad news is there's a problem i was hoping i could get some help with...

    Ashida Wii Portable

I'm currently working on an ashida, but I ran into a problem with the z-button tactile switches listed on the BOM. The pins are made so that the button mounts upside down? Am I missing something or are these the wrong buttons? DigiKey Link

Thanks for the help it turned out to be a damaged port. I got it working by buying a broken wii for like $5 and harvesting the port

Question Cant get composite video out

The resistance is measuring 75ohms so I don't think it's the pad.

Question Cant get composite video out

This is my first ever build so sorry if this has happened before. I cant get my trim to output video. The cpu and GPU are heating up so it is turning on. I think the port could have been damaged while desoldering. I'm using 30 awg magnet wire twisted together. Does that seem to be the problem...
