Hello everyone!
I am a fairly new to the Bitbuilt community just completing my very first portable. Designing the case for it on my own from the ground up was quite the tall task but I had a great time along the way. I've heard about the Summer building contest in years past, and with the opportunity to participate in this years contest as well as just wanting to make a v2, I thought It could be a fun project! You guys are a great community and the help I've had with my first project has been invaluable, so I'm looking forward to see what all you guys make!

For my project I'm going to stick to the basics with a Wii portable since I'm still learning about portablizing, But that doesn't mean I wont do the best I can! My Idea was to make a portable with the same formfactor as the Ashida, with a different controller style. While an amazing portable, I'm not the biggest fan of game cube controllers in general so I thought It would be cool to make a design inspired by the Wii Classic Pro controller. For these first few weeks I'm going to focus on improving my CAD skills, diving into the realm of creating forms, probably by trying to recreate a few smooth things from around my house. Besides that I think ill also try to add in a little style twist with the color. Anyway, looking forward to adding more updates here and seeing all the other projects, good luck and have fun everyone!

Hey again, I wanted to add a small update to what I have been working on. For now my project is called RVLP or RVL Portable, because its based on the RVL-005 Wii classic controller. I have been using this time to improve my cad skills by working with T-splines and modeling the components to my build, its been quite fun!

1. Some the components I modeled 2. Trigger assembly from the Classic 3. Practice model of the Classic

I'm having fun arranging all the pieces in order to make the most aesthetically pleasing as well as convenient to assemble portable. One thing I want it to not have is wires going between two halves of the shell, so I'm making it all the components connect to the front half and then have the back half just seal the portable. One exception I'll have to make is for the triggers but maybe I can make them with a plug so If you want to disconnect the halves you don't need to unsolder or have anything at an awkward angle. If anyone has any suggestions for any features let me know! I was thinking of maybe including some buttons for controlling the LCD and its menu, either inside, or outside for quick and easy adjustment of the screen. Anyway, Ill be getting back to work as I'm looking forward to printing some test versions of the grips and such, thanks everyone!
