I tried recycling a lot of parts, the battery is from a broken radio transmitter for mp3 players, the charger is taken from a $5 power bank, the switch from a broken GBC, and the headphone jack from a broken DMG. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, although the SD reader can be a little flakey, and the output is only around 8khz since it's software rendered.
My next one will be trying to make a genesis VGM player, I bought actual hardware chips for that.
