Heya! I just joined this forum and I can't wait to learn a lot of stuff about making custom stuff of already pre existing stuff like Raspberry Pi! (in fact, that's what I'm focusing on currently when it comes to custom tech builds! Raspberry Pi!) Also, I'm a British dude, just in case you don't know.

Hello everyone! I am new to bit built but not to the portable scene. 15 years ago I was at the benheck forums and got around to building one portable. It was a radica based Genny. I was in a hurry and really didn't do as good a job as I wanted to. I couldn't get the cart port to work and I have since realized that was probably due to the fact that I was using sonic and knuckles to test it and had never done the s&k mod. I have recently dug it out of storage and am going to totally redo it. Since Ben's forum is currently down I have come here. I'll admit that I will probably be asking questions about several things like power management systems. I am planning to do a high class version of my old Truant. Certain things that were soldered are going to get plugs and it's going to get a bigger screen. I plan on making the cart port capable of being plugged in instead of being hard soldered. In short I am going to make what I did 15 years ago better. I'm looking forward to getting back into the hobby.

Hi :)
I am new into the modding community so I'll introduce myself:

My nickname is zero, or zerotech, or zerotech00, I really don't mind how I'll be called out of these 3, and I just like fixing/repairing tech (phones, tablets, laptops, PCs etc), collecting tech and ofc, tech modding :)
My passion for tech modding started from an idea of making a custom built pc inside an Xbox case by using a 3d printed stand for the mini pc motherboard which would be screwed into the Xbox chassis and that was one of my "modding" projects ever made, it happened in the late 2024 (as far as I can remember, I made it in November or December of that year), after that I made another custom built PC, this time in a PS3 phat case, and it pretty much was made with the same principle, 3d printed stand for the motherboard, screwed into the case, and that was it, and ofc the soldered external power button to the internal switch so I would not have to remove the top case of the PS3 phat each time I wanna turn the PC on or off (I also made the same thing but instead of an external switch, I used the built in Xbox's power switch which is essentially just a normal sw1 switch so it was as simple as soldering 2 wires from a switch to another pretty much), after that I built a DVB-C 6.5 inch portable TV, as the name suggests, it's basically a small portable TV that runs only on DVB-C TV cable signal, it doesn't have any smart features, it just works as a regular dumb/normal TV that accepts DVB-C signal, and all it uses is an AliExpress 6.5 inch portable matte screen, a mini portable TV tuner that accepts DVB-C TV signal and lots of usb and hdmi adapters, and last but not least, my upcoming project which is, building a Wii portable using the whole motherboard without trimming it at all (I do know how to do soldering stuff but I'm not as good as doing micro soldering nor I have a hot air station to use to melt the solder more easily and etc, and ofc I don't wanna risk destroying the thing by dremeling it into a smaller form factor).

So that's all about me, the projects I made and the project that I'm gonna make, I hope that I'll achieve my goal of building an untrimmed Wii portable and maybe I'll make a thread with my progress of it and etc, thanks for accepting me into the community! :D
