Hello,

I am ordering parts to build Shank's RVL-129x BVM card. Following his BOM, I was able to find most of the parts but a couple were unavailable. I don't really know what each of the parts purpose is, and I'm pretty unfamiliar with micro component specs. So I thought I would ask here if the replacements I found are acceptable.

The first one is the 3.5mm audio jack. The BOM doesn't have a link, just a part number SJ-3524-SMT-TR. I found this part on Mouser and it looks the same to me.

The second part is this 2.2uf ceramic capacitor, part number VJ0805V225MXJTW1BC. Here is the link from the BOM:

The replacement I found has a few different specs, including dielectric & tolerance. I have no idea if these are relevant or important for my use case. I think they are the same size but the original part only specifies width, not height & length.

Everything else was in stock and available. Total order is currently ~$70 with shipping. The most expensive parts being the DIN connector, the 100uf capacitors, & the analog switch ICs.

Any advice is more than welcome, I have moderate experience with console mods & soldering. But this will probably be the largest project I have taken on.

Mouser does have the audio jack in stock:

Here

Also the capacitor should be fine, the sizes are standardized so an 0805 capacitor will always match another 0805 capacitor. Height shouldnt really matter in this case. From the specs it seems that the capacitor is indeed almost the same, except for the dielectric which you have already pointed out. I dont really know what the purpose of the capacitor is, but if its for decoupling then the replacement you have chosen should work alright.
