This looks awesome! Great work on modeling. Was cool to see it take shape on the discord
Thank you! The support and kind words you've all shared has been overwhelming and I feel like I don't deserve it. You've all been so nice so many times when I've had something to share on this project and your words of encouragement have kept me motivated, so for that I thank you guys again!

Revision 1 of this project has been finished and can be found here for those of you who haven't seen it yet. I'm expecting that sometime down the road I'll be bumping this thread with work I do on the second revision of this unit. But for now work on this project has concluded!

Great case design.
are you going to tutorial on how to make the portable?
Thanks! I'm a ways off from releasing the files seeing how I have custom PCBs I wanna design for this unit along with geometry I want to clean up. A tutorial isn't out of the question although I think I would likely end up making something like the Gboy guide if I was going go to do anything of that nature. Most people who make it this far in the community rely on studying existing documentation which allows them to take the actions that suit their needs. A lot of the information I used to create this unit can be found in the N64 Trimming guide which provides you with virtually every solder point used by the N64 motherboard to create a build like this.

I really would love to make this build more accessible, but that's going to come with time. The files for this project still aren't publicly available due to a few janky assembly choices that I need to iron out, along with the many things that still need to be streamlined.

this looks fantastic! I love the cutout on the back to keep the cartridge art visible. Nice touch, and great work!
