My next step in my gboy build is finding the pcbs for the face buttons. Does anyone have any idea at all of where to find something that would work? Honestly all I care about is that it works, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi !
For the PCB themselves, there are all the PCBs you need here (including the Controller PCB): https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/g-boy-pcb-files.5054/

You can order it through JLCPCB or PCBWay, it’s up to you. Just keep in mind that JLC is cheaper :awesome:

This PCB uses DS lite buttons + membranes. You can find them by a simple research on Aliexpress, or by taking them from an original DS lite. Generally, the Aliexpress ones aren’t well painted and the membranes aren’t exactly the same as the original console.

Do not forget that you should always get an ENIG surface finish for PCBs that use membranes.

I hope this will be useful for you. Have a great day !

Hi !
In the Gboy PCB folder, there's a "Gerber_PCB_G-Boy Breakout Boards-GC+.zip" folder.
This is your Gerber "file". Gerbers are PCB files for production. JLC or PCBWay will make your PCB from this folder. Inside it, there are one file for each layer of the PCB (like the copper layers, the silkscreen, etc)

To order it, you have to go on their website: https://jlcpcb.com/
then, on the main page, you have to press the "Add Gerber File" button and select the folder I mentioned earlier. You have to upload the ZIP folder and not the files inside.
You might have to rename the Gerber file. I personally had error when I've tried to import it. If you have the same problem as me, rename it "Controller_PCB.zip"

Normally, your PCB should be imported and you should see it.
You'll find a lot of options, but you shouldn't modify them. However, you can change the color if you want. Do not forget to set the surface finish to ENIG !

This is what you should have.

And here is the list of the components you'll need:
- A GC+ 2.0 from 4Layer Tech (https://4layertech.com/products/gc-2)
- A start button (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/c-k/RKA2SGM055SMTR-LFS/13997217)
- Two Joycon's connectors (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/molex/5051100592/5700453)

That's it :)

Xenii, you've really gone above and beyond for me the last few days. I'm pretty sure that I got all that and I'll start ordering them up. Thank you and I really appreciate making this so easy for me to understand. Have a great day!
