So, bit of a strange issue as far as I can tell. I am using the RVL-AMP in a G-Wii build I've been working on. The audio works perfectly with headphones plugged in, but the speakers built into my portable only work when HS is shorted to ground, regardless of whether or not it is connected to either of the vias it should be connected to. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this (other than permanently connecting HS to ground, of course, as I believe that would mess up at least one of the speakers in the headphones, as it seems like the HS line is checking for impedance from the right speaker line, as far as I can tell)

Could you share photos of the wiring? It sounds like there could be an issue surrounding the wiring of the HS to the rvlamp, wii, or headphone jack. Are you using the headphone jack included, or a different one? Check to make sure the HS is on the right connection on the jack.

I'm not around to be able to take a picture at the moment, but I'm using a headphone jack from a New Nintendo 3DS XL, as that's what I had lying around at the time. When headphones are plugged in, it works exactly as one would expect, but otherwise, the internal speaker (I only have the right one wired, as the other got damaged) only works when HS is shorted to ground, and it behaves the same way regardless of whether or not it's wired to the Wii as instructed. Technically I'm not 100% certain the HS wiring to the jack is actually correct, it just seems strange that it happens to be working anyways with the headphones.

Would you happen to know what the jack should normally short HS to when headphones are plugged in? For me, it seems to short it to the right headphone speaker line.

Edit -- I will be gald to add some photos once I can. They definitely won't look too pretty though

This sounds to me like a headphone jack wiring issue. Yes, the switch should be on one of the output speaker signals
