Question Would acrylic paint be suitable for design on portable?

For my Ashida I'm making, my girlfriend will be helping me paint the case. So far, our idea is to cover it with a light blue spray paint and then put a design on the middle of the bottom half.

For the light blue I've decided to use testors or tamiya (I haven't decided so if anyone has preference, feel free to let me know).

However for the design paint, i haven't found anything on what to do for that. We have acrylic already, but I know certain paints aren't a good idea. I'm willing to purchase new paint, so if anyone has suggestions or can confirm that acrylic will work, please do so.

I would like to add a clear coat to help preserve everything I've done. Thanks guys!

It should work, yeah. Several people here have hand painted decals and patterns on their spray-painted cases and they turned out great. I don't know what brands were used, though
