We do plan to cut down on the length, however to do that we'd either need to use smaller components that fit between the module and the board or have components on both sides of the PCB.
We'd also likely have to lose the sync button if we really want to cut the length in half without increasing...
The first prototype boards are done and functional: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-how-to-wire-a-wii-s-bluetooth-module-to-a-pc-usb-port?pid=430652#pid430652
We've uploaded our first design here: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/bt-module-connector/tree/master/Designs
This version is intended to be hand-soldered as a prototype. When everything works correctly another designer (sigboe) will work on a version that will go through a reflow oven.
@[73:@cheese] We already found the connector ourselves, according to our measurements it should be this one: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/molex-connector-corporation/0541020164/WM8876CT-ND/3197306
@[60:@Shank] We also found the pinout on BitBuilt through google. We have our PCB...
Thanks for prototyping the BT module. Me and a couple of other guys are working on producing a USB connector board for the BT module, so if you'd like to stay in the loop let me know.
