I have decided to make a portable PS2 based on Gman's trimming guide, I haven't defined the trimming type yet. First I will disassemble the console and see what modifications I make to it.

I share some images of the beginning of the work, I will return soon to comment on progress.

Hello guys, I have connected the remote control via Bluetooth. The tests are designed to link a second wireless controller to the portable PS2. Thanks to the BlueRetro team (connection of wireless controllers to consoles through the Esp32 development board). I must say that it works quite well linking dualshock4.

I will use a 5-inch screen with HDMI input, connecting the PS2 to HDMI adapter (the image quality looks very good)

I will do some power tests to the screen controller card to reduce the 5v input.

I really like what I see. If anyone has a question or suggestion, I am open to any comments. I'll be back soon with new progress.

Lovely LCD driver board, handles the speakers and everything. Did you give any thought to using a RetroGem for the HDMI? I bet it makes the picture quality nearly perfect.

Anyway, are you planning on doing your controller analog sticks in the traditional PlayStation style, or the Xbox staggered style?

The LCD controller card is very complete in my opinion, it has inputs for speakers and a 3.5 jack. (It seems to have pins to connect USB and play movies and music, I really don't know. I'll try it later).

It would be great to adapt RetroGem for the HDMI, I considered it within my possibilities without a doubt the image quality would be excellent.

I want the controls to be PlayStation style to retain their essence, although the original PS2 analog joysticks may be too large to fit inside the case (maybe consider a Nintendo Switch joystick).

I have cut the model 79001 board (9.3 cm x 10.7 cm) and its final dimensions are proportional to the 5-inch LCD screen. I don't know if this model can be cut to a smaller size. It would be great to downsize. (If anyone knows, I would appreciate it if you could comment)

I was working on the design of the case, for now I made a general concept of PS2 portable and then I'll focus on the details.

Honestly, I like a PS Vita style better, although I don't know if later due to space limitations I should lean towards a Nintendo Switch style.

Now I will focus on the power regulators. I'll be back soon with new progress.

Hi, could you share the specs of you screen and where you found it? I want to build a portable PS2 myself but I am still deciding which screen I should use.
