I have this DVI output RP2040 Feather from Adafruit and I plan to design a daughter board that handles audio and controls. The Feather has USB-C charging and a JST battery connector already implemented. I'm sure that with the RP2040's PIO state machines I can drive PWM audio, RGB LEDs, haptics and maybe more (IDRK).

PCB designed! I have the speakers, haptic vibration motors and controls all set up. 9 digital inputs: LB, RB, select, start, a, b, x, y, and joystick button. 2 analog inputs, joystick x/y. The feather will output 4 PWM signals, left and right haptic motors and left and right audio. I plan to make a custom featherwing that implements the PWM audio setup shown in the RP2040 hardware design datasheet.

I traced this emu drawing with a spline tool so I could model with it.

I also made a thin layer in front of a 5mm hole so I can backlight it with an LED to make it glow.

Sorry for lack of updates. It’s because there hasn’t been any progress sadly. I’ve been away for a while but I’ll be home tomorrow and my parts are all here (I think). More to come!!
