Laptop screen - with RPI

Hi guys,
Want to take out the laptop screen from an old laptop and connect it to a rpi.
Looking at using a driver board like this:

But am unsure if i need a specific driver board for the specific LCD.

You can use Hardware Info to find out what LCD panel you have and what driver you need. Usually though, the driver board will probably cost more than a screen that's specifically made for pi projects.

I also saw a pi thing where it was a linux distro on a usb and you could just plug it into the usb of a monitor and you could use it like that. I'll have to find it though and I might be misremembering it as well. I'll edit it in or post it later if I can find it.
