Currently working on 2 Wii portables, but you can never have too many right?
This ambitious tiny but mighty boy will require an AVE relocation, Nand relocation, and custom PCBs in order for me to obtain the small form factor.
The goal here is to have something very pocketable.
I'm still working out the kinks with arrangements and specs, but here's what will be on the list:
- Omega-ish trim but retaining all 4 screw posts
- Custom PCBs
- 3.5" 640x480 IPS LCD via VGA
- Maybe headphone jack? (If I can fit it)
- 2x Sanyo 3500mah 18650s
- PMS
- Pam Amp or custom audio amp
- 3D printed or SLA printed custom size buttons
- Vita analog sticks
- GC+ 2.0
That's all I can think of for now. Progress is in the early stages but here are some pics:
In order for me to achieve the goal of being only 25mm thicc, I had to make an indention in the bottom layer thickness where the battery sits.
Additionally to achieve this 25mm goal, I also had to have the analogs indented as well.
The analog litteraly sits on top of the 18650, which works well because it is friction fit and will not require to be screwed in since there is no wiggle room to begin with.
Size comparison to Wii remote:
Size comparison to 1st gen regular 3DS (not the XL).
Just a few mm taller than the 3ds.
Current size of the Niintendo Pocket is 128mm x 72mm x 25mm.
Next on the list is to tackle the custom abxy/d-pad custom PCBs with GC+ 2.0 integrated as well as ffc connectors for less wiring. Not really looking forward to it since I don't have much space to work with...
