Hi and wow what a treasure trove of info on this forum, I have been asked to fix a friends WII U that the fan was not running on, I could bodge it, but I do not want to.bodge it to another 5v connection,, However, the component in question I think is Q5 - The last SMD transistor then routing through D7 and eventually to the +5v pin on the fan header, the 5v was making it as far as Q5, but on diode range, my fluke measured a dead short both ways between what I assume to be the collector to the fan side and the base assuming I am reading the pins correctly (bottom left base, bottom right emitter and top middle collector to the fan) please correct me if I am wrong, anyway, after removing Q5 the short disappears from the board, and so I am assuming Q5 is at fault, can anyone please tell me what type and model of transistor this is, so I can replace it please.and huge thanks in advance
