Surprise update: An updated back shell designed to fit the 40mm Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX fan. A small hole was also added next to the USB port so that the button on the USB-C board can function as a reset switch (for accessing Priiloader).

New file can be found found attached here and to OP.
If I were to want to print from PCBWay, should I use the optimized file for the back, or this file? Or are they the same model?

Hey Folks :D

Hope you're all well :)

I've been looking into various things as I plan to create my own Ashida Wii, and one of things I wanted to ask folks, is there a mod to use hall effect thumbsticks as they do with the PhobGCC or will it just work?

Will the GC+ v2 be compatible with hall effect thumbsticks or is further modding required?

Cheers :)

I'm interested in making an Ashida, but I'm not sure how many gamecube controllers and wii classic controllers I need to buy to get all the parts I need. I'm super new here, so there might be something I'm missing.

You need one Gamecube controller's worth of parts, plus an additional Z button and start button. You can purchase sets of third party replacements on ebay to acquire the extra Z & start buttons from

As I was putting the screen in place the shell that I printed and panted was just a little bit too small and cracked the screen. I was wondering if I could just buy the screen again and not the other components for it.

You can buy the screen alone right from the 4 layer website
Unfortunately, when you buy the screen from 4 layer it also comes with the driver board. I only need the screen and don't want to end up with a second board

There is an "IPS screen only" option, so you can only buy the screen.

I've been wanting to build a wii portable for a while and this seems like the perfect build to start with, and i know this seems a bit ambitious, but would it be possible to output to a tv as well as the screen (kinda like a switch)?

Hey all, currently looking for a new project and this Ashida build could definitely be it. Looks great and I've already watched a few assembly videos. But they usually all start with a completed printed case from PCBway with few details on the print settings/materials. I wasn't able to find further details with the forum search feature or on google/reddit, but it may just be my search phrasing. Is there a list somewhere for recommend fillament types PLA/ABS/PETG and general printer settings like support type, infill %, speed etc? I know these can be very printer specific but any general recomendations?

Seems like ABS or PETG may be prefered for durability and heat resistance? Or do most people just use PLA regardless.

Most people just use PLA. The Ashida's cooling system is pretty overkill, so warping during operation isn't a concern unless you leave it out in the sun. I don't remember the recommended infill, but as long as your wall thickness is set appropriately IIRC it doesn't really matter.

You could try loading the 3MF files and see what settings are baked in. Wesk pre-prepared them so they're basically load and go

Thanks for the quick follow up! Yeah it does seem like there were some baked in setting in the files that should be good enough to print, but it turns out the print is to big for my printer bed anyways and I am not really interested in printing it in pieces and gluing together so I am just gonna look into buying a resin shell anyways. Now I just need to determine the color palette...

I have a bambu lab printer, and the bambu slicer program won't accept whatever 3mf file was made. Could someone please either paste the modified settings, or direct me to a slicer that is compatible with bambu and the 3mf file?
